Vishvaroopa

God Krishna revealed His Universal form or Viswaroop or  viSurUpa (giant form) during the discourse of Gita when Arjuna sought the God’s blessings to see the same. Generally, this viswaroopa is not seen by even other gods or sages. So Arjuna was really the blessed to witness the fearsome and an infinite form of God.

The viswaroop possessed of innumerable and varying but powerful divine  forms with different colors.

All that described in Vibuth yoga are seen to encompass in this Viswaroop of god.

In fact, it is highly impossible to describe the form as it is infinite and immeasurable.
The various creatures and structures of the universe in full motion are seen embedded in the divine form. As these cannot be seen with the ordinary human eye, God Krishna provided the special vision to Arjuna’s eyes.

Viswaroop had several headseyes, shoulders, and hands in one mass that was decorated with divine ornaments and weapons. The structure was infinite in all directions with no boundaries. Different worlds of the universe are found in that form.

The magnificent light that emanated from  the viswaroop was blinding like thousands of sun. There was no beginning or end to be seen of viswaroop.

Countless sages and devotees chanting mantras and praising with prayers were seen entering the body of God. Many human beings were found rushing into the mouth like the insects attracted to the glowing light source.

The Kauravas(against  whom  Arjuna fought the Kurukshetra war) and Bhisma(Great Grand father and great bachelor) and several soldiers on the battlefield were found to be entering the Gods fiery mouth having fearsome tooth: some soldiers found trapped in the gaps of the teeth.

God Krishna said that these people are bound to die in the battle even if Arjuna wished not to fight against themSo, He reminded and persuaded Arjuna to do his duty to fight in the battlefield.

Realizing the truth of God, Arjuna paid tributes to Krishna and said “Happy seeing your  infinite and horrible formbut feel terrified by your appearanceSo pleas bless me with your pleasant form of Vishnu having four hands."

God replied, " This virat swaroop was never seen here beforeYou are the privileged as my friend It cannot be seen even with the practice of strictest disciplines or by understanding of scripture(Veda).” So, God fulfilled the wish of Arjuna with four-handed form.
