Sum and Substance

The universe is an inverted Peepul tree with God as the root in the top), Brahma as the trunk and its branches and Vedas making the leaves (in the bottom). A person knowing the basic of Vedas only understands the above philosophy of the universe.

Branches of the said tree, with Gunas as water, grow  into shoots as sense objects and spread and develop everywhere into leaves as divine, human and other lower orders of lifeLikewise, the bondage as pride, lust and affiliation of human beings spread through the entire world owing to the past actions or karma done.

One should sincerely devote himself to the discharge of his duties and surrender the outcome to God, through detachment and distancing from the above tree.

As the wind carries the fragrance from its source like flower, the soul or Atma carries the attributes of mind and senses of the last body to the new body of subsequent birth which may be an angela human being, or lower form.

Only wise people know the above truth during the human life while others do not understand. But they ascribe the enjoyment and suffering of the body to themselves and not to the soul.

Yogis realize the atman or soul existing within by practiceBut those lacking pure mind cannot achieve this even by stringent methods.

Universe consists only perishable (Kshera) and non-perishable (Akshera) matter: the former is the body and the latter is soul. But God who resides within and protects all, remains distinct from the above two, kshera and akshera. This makes Him as the Supreme soul (Sanskrit equivalent is Paramatma or Purushothma).

A person who understands the above secret of God’s principle is said to have achieved what a scholar sought.
